Carlisle Bay Beach, Barbados

I took a 7-day cruise on Carnival Fascination leaving from San Juan, Puerto Rico. The ports where St Thomas, St Maarten, St Kitts, St Lucia and Barbados. The only sea day was after leaving Barbados. The cruise was from Sunday to Sunday. Some passengers got on the ship in Barbados to start their 7-day cruise. The Fascination retired and is now in the Turkish shipyard and has been dismantled.

This is a fabulous itinerary. Waking up every morning on a different island was a dream. St Thomas is very close to Puerto Rico so the captain steered the ship at a slower speed so we wouldn't arrive 4 hours after leaving Puerto Rico. Be sure to ride the Skyride to Paradise Point. This is US property so no passport needed for US citizens if flying there. St Maarten is divided by two countries. Sint Maarten, part of the Netherlands, and Saint Martin, part of France. Sint Maarten is where Maho Beach is. It is famous for low flying airplanes over the beach to land just over the road from the beach. Passport required if flying there. St Kitts and Nevis face each other. If you go to Timothy Hill, you can see the island has Atlantic Ocean on the eastern side and Caribbean Sea on the western side. There are rainforests here. St Kitts is known for being the first English colony in the Caribbean. If you visit Cockleshell Beach, you can take a nearby 30-minute boat ride to Nevis across the bay. A neighborhood on the island called Sundance Ridge was named by none other than Robert Redford. Passport is needed to fly there. St Lucia is known for the Pitons mountain range and the world's only drive through volcano. There are lush rainforests to visit. Barbados was our last port. When we got off the ship we listened to the sound of steel drums as we walked down the pier. It is the most eastern island in the Caribbean. Carlisle Beach is one of several beautiful beaches. Make sure to try fried flying fish.
